"I'm James Wheeler. Please, call me Wheeler. The only way I could ever stand the name Jim was if you put a diamond in front
of it. Kind of a bit much, don't you think?" James Wheeler (Mickey Rourke) asks Emily Reed (Carre' Otis) in their first meeting.
Wheeler is a man who has put up stone walls and iron bars around his emotions. So strong are those barriers that he can only
feel and touch the world through others. However, a business associate from his past, Claudia (Jaqueline Bisset) sends a
naive young woman on a date with him in her place. He takes her on a sensual awakening that shakes up both their worlds.
From their first meeting, she begins to crack those barriers, chipping away at him until he is laid bare before a woman who
wants nothing from him but honest feelings. He is forced into opening up and facing the very real possibility of loosing the one
woman that was breaking down the fortress heíd built around his heart in a way that he never expected.
