
| Mickey Rourke plays Charlie Moran in the comedy/drama The Pope Of Greenwich Village. Charlie is a streetwise , smooth talking hustler who believes in family loyalty and by that he ends up covering for his hi-strung cousin, Paulie (Eric Roberts) who steals from the restaurant they work in. Paulie ends up getting fired from Sal's, and brings Charlie down with him. Charlie has a dream of owning his own resturant, which is now put on hold along with paying off debt which include department stores, shylocks, and the ongoing parking tickets of his ex-wife, Cookie. |

| Diane (Daryl Hannah), Charlie's girlfriend just informs him that he will be expecting his second child, which puts more strain on Charlie. Paulie then gets an inside scoop on a "sure thing" race horse and a tip to access 150,000 from a safe. The two enlist a ex-con safe cracker, Barney (Kenneth McMillan) to help steal the money. Charlie then finds himself in hot water when he finds out that the money belonged to a local mob boss, Bed Bug Eddie (Burt Young). Things get a little heavier when Charlie finds out not only that Bed Bug Eddie is after him, but his girlfriend Diane leaves him and takes Charlie's part of the money |
