TINY
They Crawl.. also known as Crawlers, is the 2001 R-rated cinematic version of Weird Science gone
terribly wrong. Directed by John Allardice andJohn Terlesky and written by Curtin Joseph and Davis
Mason, it combines science fiction, campy horror and a murder mystery. When a student/drug dealer
shows up dead from being internally gutted, his brother Ted Gage (Daniel Cosgrove) teams up with a
lovely detective Gina O'Bannon (Tamara Davies) and (Bennet Guillory) a scientist with ties to a
dangerous cult.
As the truth begins to unfold, it is discovered that the whole problem is a vast, invisible conspiracy
against the government! O'Bannon is joined on her quest to solve this disturbing case by the last
victim's brother, Ted, who just so happens to have a few secrets of his own that tends to leave his
credibility in question by the viewer. When the plot begins to unfold Ted and Gina suddenly find out
what they're really up against. There is a mad, yet brilliant perpetrator behind the genetic altering and
engineering of an army of 600 million mutant cockroaches on a killing spree. Although they were
created to do whatever their mastermind-creator asked, the roaches soon get together, controlled by
no one and morph to form one giant killing specimen with a mind of it's own.
Keep your eyes peeled for lightning-fast appearances by Tone Loc and Tim Thomerson. Even more
unexpectedly, Mickey Rourke shows up in a scene as a conspiracy theorist, "Tiny Frakes",the ex-leader
of murderous cult .When the beautiful detective questions Tiny about who is masterminding these
vicious roaches, cult happenings are uncovered which include strong and present-day genetic
engineering ploy. Itís based on illegal and evil human tinkering with animal DNA and unleashing a
deadly roach plague upon the City of Angels.
